Get Ready for What's Coming In the Next Year or Two

The next year or two will not announce itself.

It will just stop paying for the middle of the workflow.

Four things worth knowing before that happens:

Work. A lot of what still looks like a job is about to look like a task. Drafts, summaries, research passes, the first version of the deck. Those do not need a person sitting with them all day. The people who stay valuable are the ones who can direct the tools, check the output, and own the decision.

Knowledge. Fluent answers get cheap. Knowing whether an answer is true does not. Trusting the logo on the source is the old literacy. Testing it yourself, fast, is the new one.

Governance. Governments will not disappear. They will be late. Rules written for offices, payrolls, and paper trails will chase software that changes between hearings. Do not wait for a ministry to tell you the new shape of your work.

And the frame around all of it: get ready. Not because the sky is falling. Because ordinary life is about to rearrange faster than the institutions around it can rename what happened.

You do not have to like it.

You do have to be in front of it.
