What happens when scientific discovery starts moving at machine speed? ??

OpenAI recently gave an unreleased frontier AI model thousands of open mathematical research problems.

The result: hundreds of potential new mathematical discoveries.

But the most important part of this story may not be the mathematics.

It may be the scale of discovery itself.

New mathematics can eventually lead to new algorithms, new physics, new materials, new medicines and even better AI.

And that raises a fascinating question:

What happens when we can effectively copy the researcher thousands of times and let those digital minds investigate problems in parallel?

We may be approaching a transition from AI that helps us understand existing knowledge to AI that helps create entirely new knowledge.

And if discoveries made by AI eventually help build better AI, the implications become larger still.

Our latest Conjugo article explores what happened, why it matters, what we should be cautious about, and where this could lead.
